Hon. Abdulai Mahmud Secures Industrial Site for Local Fitters in Bold Step Toward Economic Transformation in Bole

In a decisive move to promote orderly development and empower local artisans, the Bole District Chief Executive, Hon. Abdulai Mahmud, has successfully led a high-powered delegation to inspect and earmark land for the establishment of a dedicated industrial repair enclave—popularly known as a “Magazine”—near the Bole SOCO Astroturf Park.

The initiative forms part of the DCE’s broader agenda to modernize informal economic activities while creating a structured environment for small-scale businesses to thrive. Once completed, the industrial site will accommodate vehicle and machinery fitters currently operating from scattered locations across Bole, with individual plots to be allocated to artisans for organized and regulated operations.

Speaking after the site inspection, Hon. Abdulai Mahmud reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to sustainable urban planning and economic empowerment.

“This administration is focused on creating opportunities for our hardworking artisans while ensuring the orderly growth of our township,” he said. “By providing a dedicated industrial enclave, we are improving safety standards, boosting productivity, and laying the foundation for long-term economic development in Bole.”

The strategic location of the site offers ample space for future expansion, including the construction of access roads, electricity connections, sanitation facilities, and modern workshops. Beyond improving working conditions, the project is also expected to enhance internally generated revenue for the Assembly and attract additional private-sector support services.

Representatives of the fitters who participated in the inspection expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing it as a long-overdue intervention that recognizes their contribution to the local economy. While welcoming the development, they appealed for the timely provision of basic infrastructure to facilitate a smooth transition once relocation begins.

Officials of the District Assembly indicated that further stakeholder engagements—including consultations with traditional authorities and affected artisans—will follow to finalize site layouts and plot allocations ahead of full implementation.

Under the leadership of Hon. Abdulai Mahmud, the Bole District Assembly continues to deliver practical, people-centered development initiatives—reinforcing its commitment to building a safer, more organized, and economically vibrant Bole for all.

A better Bole District for all.
