Savannah Regional Minister Undertakes One-Day Working Visit to Bole District.

Bole, Savannah Region – February 6, 2026 — The Savannah Regional Minister, Hon. Salisu Be-Awuribe Esq., paid a one-day working visit to the Bole District as part of ongoing efforts to assess development needs and strengthen stakeholder engagement across the district. He was accompanied by the District Chief Executive, Hon. Abdulai Mahmud, officials of the Bole District Assembly, constituency party executives, and party supporters.

The visit began with a courtesy call on His Royal Highness Yiram Bolewura Safo Kutuge Feso I, Paramount Chief of the Bole Traditional Area, where the minister formally announced his presence and sought royal blessings. He used the occasion to outline key government development interventions earmarked for Bole township and surrounding communities. These include the awarding of contracts for the construction of the Bole Training College of Education and the upgrading of Bole Senior High School, enhancement of the Bole Nursing and Midwifery Training College, establishment of a STEM Senior High School at Tinga, construction of a ring road and dualization of major township roads, implementation of the 24-Hour Economy Market, network expansion, sustainable water supply systems, and the construction of the Bole–Chache road, among other planned projects.

The delegation then proceeded to Chibrinyoa in the southern sector of the district, where the minister paid a condolence visit following the passing of the community chief. Discussions focused on improving water supply, addressing herder-farmer conflicts, and renovating the CHPS compound to strengthen healthcare delivery.

Engagements continued with the North Mo Traditional Council and residents of Bamboi. Key issues raised included proposals for the creation of a new district with Bamboi as capital, expansion and furnishing of the Bamboi Polyclinic, government-led efforts by the Member of Parliament, Hon. Alhaji Yusif Sulemana Ori, to convert the Bamboi Community Day Senior High School into a boarding institution, provision of transport for the North Mo Traditional Council, strengthening security through increased police personnel and logistics, and facilitating a working visit by the Council to His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama.

The minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the Techiman–Wa Highway project, which will directly benefit Bamboi, and highlighted collaborative efforts with the MP and District Assembly to provide a sustainable water supply system for Bamboi and surrounding communities.

A brief stop was made at Banda Nkwanta, where the chief and elders warmly received the delegation. Community leaders appealed for the town to be considered as a district capital in any future administrative reorganization and highlighted needs including reliable electricity, establishment of a senior high school or college of education, and job creation. The minister assured residents that their concerns would be duly considered.

The final stop was Tinga, where the team met His Excellency Chief Alhaji Sampson Seidu Kurabaso and elders. Discussions centered on the planned STEM Senior High School, benefits of the Wenchi–Wa asphalt road project, upgrading of the Tinga Health Centre, posting of a medical doctor to the Martyrs of Uganda Health Centre through MP interventions, progress on a sustainable water system, and expansion of the Tinga market to accommodate population growth. Appeals were also made for Tinga to be designated a district capital in any future redistricting exercise.

The visit highlighted the government’s commitment to inclusive development across the Bole District, with a strong emphasis on infrastructure, education, healthcare, water provision, security, and conflict resolution, reinforced through collaboration between regional authorities, the District Assembly, and traditional leadership.
